Its fundamental task is to provide space and opportunity for open critical examination of the complex cultural, identity, and political realities of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian society, as well as recent socio-political phenomena faced by contemporary societies. The goal of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences is to encourage and involve interested experts from a wide range of scientific disciplines to offer their own diagnoses of these phenomena and raise questions that can and should be addressed by the academic community, questions that are crucial for society as a whole. In the context of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian academic sphere, finding new, untested models of communication, socio-political critique, historical interpretations, and even philosophical reflections on reality in a deeply divided society, is not only a scientific challenge but also an urgent social need. Due to these objectives, we consider the yearbook to be a truly important "refreshment" in the context of the academic sphere and culture in which we live, and we believe it has a very promising future in which it will, hopefully, achieve the status of an indispensable scientific-professional publication. All submitted papers undergo two double-blind peer-reviews by prominent experts in the respective field, which is another guarantee of the yearbook’s quality. It is important to emphasize that during its publication, careful consideration is given to the relevance of the submitted topics and their scientific contribution; therefore, papers are carefully selected to achieve the recognized quality of the yearbook.

Possible topics under consideration include: Identities (national, ethnic, and religious identity in contemporary globalized society; migration and the transformation of identity: experiences of the diaspora and minorities; identity in the digital age: social networks and the creation of new communities; cyber identities: artificial intelligence and virtual cultures; historical turning points and their consequences for culture and identity…) Cultures (culture of memory: history, trauma, and collective remembrance; intercultural dialogue and conflicts in multiethnic societies; cultural heritage between preservation and commercialization; popular culture as a form of identity expression; tradition and modernity: conflicts and syntheses in cultural practices; artificial intelligence and the shaping of cultural narratives…) Languages (language as a marker of identity: sociolinguistic approaches; language policy and minority languages in Europe and the world; translation as a bridge (or barrier) between cultures; multilingualism: advantages, challenges, and educational models; language in the arts: literary, theatrical, and film discourse; media and the shaping of cultural and linguistic identities…) It should be stressed that the proposed topics do not represent an exhaustive list but rather serve as guidelines and depend on the theme of the annual conference.
